I am recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Financial Systems Specialist/Architect to drive the implementation and management of their financial application system, with a focus on IBM Cognos TM1 (Planning Analytics). This role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and system management while supporting the finance team in aligning the system with business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and DevelopmentLead development, including coding and testing of TM1 applications.Collaborate with finance teams to ensure the system meets business requirements.Implement enhancements and updates in the Planning Analytics system under the direction of the Architect.System ManagementOversee and manage TM1 applications with other developers.Continuously improve finance processes using TM1 technology.Financial ReportingDevelop and manage financial reporting systems in line with accepted accounting principles.Ensure timely and accurate preparation and analysis of financial data, including sales, earnings, and cash balances.Budgeting and ForecastingPrepare reports summarizing and forecasting financial performance.Assist in preparing and directing company budgets.Special ProjectsProvide support on special projects for the Group Controller.Other ResponsibilitiesPerform additional duties as assigned.Career LevelExperienced Non-ManagerRequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.ExperienceAt least 7 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3 years of development experience with IBM Cognos TM1 (Planning Analytics).Strong functional knowledge of financial systems and processes.SkillsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership, including CFOs and Directors.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and advanced IBM Cognos TM1 skills.In-depth understanding of TM1 development, including TurboIntegrator processes, Rules, and advanced modeling techniques.Strong background in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and business intelligence.Extensive ERP experience, with a focus on generating variance reports and analyzing subsidiary financials.Problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and teamwork skills.Additional QualitiesThis role offers growth potential, with the opportunity to lead a department in the future.Candidates with a strong understanding of financial planning and analytics are encouraged to apply.
