Summary: The primary responsibility of the Vice President (VP), Learning & Engagement shall be to create content for and facilitate education initiatives that support the mission and vision of the organization. The VP, Learning & Engagement, in conjunction with the CEO, creates, coordinates, implements, and manages Embracing Our Differences' educational programs, including day to day operations, as well as actively participates in strategic planning and administration.Duties and Responsibilities:Create, develop, evaluate and implement all education programs and activities offered by Embracing Our Differences, including, professional development workshops, curriculum and lesson plan development, field trip programs, reading days, high school service clubs and other special projects in Sarasota, Manatee, and Pinellas Counties;Design and facilitate educator workshops/professional development workshops;Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with school districts, school- based administrators, educators, students and community organizations;Manage education scheduling, including educator attendance tracking and inventory and distribution of all training materials. Work with the school district's curriculum and instructional staff to ensure all resource materials are delivered to educators in a timely and efficient manner;Coordinate development and production of high-quality curriculum and/or content that is aligned to state standards for workshops, classes, lectures, and other educational materials;Implement a continuous improvement model which includes: Surveying educators' interest in programs, tracking program participation and program outcomes; and working with CEO to plan and implement changes to improve results;Promote and market education programs to educators via meetings, announcements, flyers, emails, and social media including Facebook, Instagram, etc.;Ensure designated schoolyear and summer education programs meet stated objectives; Assist in the implementation and growth of student-led service clubs and programs; Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time and in furtherance of the organization's operations and mission.Required Skills/ Abilities/ Characteristics:Bachelor's degree in education or related field required; Master's degree preferred;Experience in Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) facilitation preferred;Consummate professionalism and integrity inside and outside of the workplace; An appreciation and passion for the organization's mission and values;Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, facility with basic technology and the proclivity to be an effective spokesperson and relationship builder; Skills and insights of a politically astute leader with the ability to work independently, set clear priorities, delegate as appropriate and employ keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making applicable to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.Physical DemandsThe VP, Education & Outreach is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak and hear. The position requires extensive computer use, outdoor activities and occasional lifting and/or moving of light to moderate loads. A valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
