Job Title: Mid to Senior Level Estimator (Federal)Company: Protective Coatings, Inc. (PCI)Location: Dayton and Surrounding Tri-State AreaAbout Us: Protective Coatings, Inc. (PCI) operates as a Federal General Contractor with self-performing capability as union shop specializing in wastewater treatment plant coatings as well as an interior drywall finish and painting division. We focus on projects in the Dayton and Tri-State area whenever possible.Position Overview: We are seeking a Mid to Senior Level Estimator with preconstruction experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Federal estimating and a willingness to expand your experience into estimating for industrial and commercial coatings projects. The Estimator will work closely with owners and project managers to ensure all estimates are accurate and complete.Responsibilities:• Track bid opportunities, solicitations, RFPs, pre-bid RFIs, and addendums.• Coordinates bonding.• Control document distribution and solicit subcontractor partners.• Manage the bid process.• Prepare pre-bid construction schedules.• Organize and participate in estimate reviews.• Develop bid package scopes of work.• Coordinate and assist with construction/PM handoff.• Participate in preconstruction work such as budgeting, preconstruction kickoff and design meetings.• Visit project sites to determine construction methods and self-perform task order scopes of work.• Work with bid team to create proposal technical capability statements, past performance, and other resume-type deliverables required with proposal submissions.• Build and maintain relationships with key subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.• Attend pre-bid site visits to develop the scope of work and required materials and equipment for customer projects.• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.• Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain costs for job materials.• Collaborate with project managers to set project milestones and expectations.• Prepare and submit bids and proposals.• Update estimates as needed per addendums, change requests, or other changes.• Ensure all estimates comply with company policies and procedures.• Assemble all preconstruction documents for seamless handoff to the post-award construction team.• Perform other estimating and preconstruction duties as required (site visits, field surveys, permitting, etc.).• Proficiency with office equipment, computers, and various PC software programs, including estimating software.• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Schedule).• Ability to break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.Requirements:• 5 or more years of estimating experience in the construction industry with a Bachelor's degree in a related field.• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment in both older and current building sites and materials.• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications, including blueprints.• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.• Ability to pass a federal background check for security clearance• US citizenship or equivalent
