Vaco has partnered with a client in Zionsville, IN to hire a HR Manager for their team. We are looking for candidates who have previous HR experience in a Manufacturing environment. This position will work onsite 5 days per week. Plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day Human Resources activities and staff of an organization. The HR Manager is responsible for administering compensation and benefits, developing and enforcing policies, coordinating safety programs, and maintaining employment records. Essential Job FunctionsServe as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problemsAnalyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirementsAdvise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changesPerform staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary proceduresPlan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectivesIdentify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicantsPlan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, and employee relationsPlan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel, training, or labor relations activities of an organizationRepresent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigationsAdminister compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programsProvide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefitsAnalyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practicesMaintain records within HRIS and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism ratesAnalyze training needs to design employee development, language training and health and safety programsConduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee terminationOversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positionsPrepare personnel forecast to project employment needsStudy legislation to assess industry trendsAllocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnelDevelop or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, savings bond programs, daycare, and employee awardsInvestigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriersContract with vendors to provide employee services Minimum Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent professional experience5+ years of experience in HR with specific experience in management/ leadershipMust have previous HR experience working in Manufacturing/ Warehouse environmentPHR/SPHR certification preferredProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsStrong written and oral communication, teamwork and presentation skillsExpertise in the following HR competencies: Employee RelationsSafetyHR Strategy and PlanningRecruitment and StaffingTraining and DevelopmentCompensation and BenefitsHR MetricsChange Management StrategiesKnowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resourcesKnowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
