Farm Manager Needed in Bureau County, IllinoisAbout the PositionWe are seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee operations on a 5,000-acre family-owned farm in Bureau County. This hands-on position requires expertise in row crop management, particularly corn, soybeans, and potatoes. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of working independently while managing seasonal staff during planting and harvest.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and oversee all aspects of farm operations, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting diverse cropsManage and maintain farm equipment and irrigation systems, including pivot irrigationSupervise and train seasonal farm staffImplement pest control and disease management strategiesMonitor crop health and market trends to optimize production and profitabilityEnsure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocolsCompile and submit weekly reports to farm ownersCollaborate with owner on farm management decisions and innovationsQualificationsProven experience in farm management, preferably with row crops or vegetable cropsStrong knowledge of agricultural practices, agronomy, and modern farming technologiesExpertise in operating and maintaining farm equipmentMechanical skills with the ability to perform basic equipment repairsExperience with irrigation systems, particularly pivot irrigationExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in farm management software and Microsoft Office SuiteValid driver's license and clean driving recordIdeal CandidateSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyAspires to lead a team in a progressive farming environmentOpen to innovation and continuous improvement in farming practicesCapable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced agricultural settingBenefits & CompensationCompetitive salary range: $60,000 to $75,000, based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance for employee (50% for family)401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off (PTO)Cell phone reimbursementPotential relocation assistanceFarm-based company truck (for eligible positions)Opportunities for professional development and advancementThis position offers an exciting opportunity to join a stable company that utilizes advanced farming methods.
