As an AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator, you will support jobseekers facing barriers to employment at Justice Jobs of Maryland. You will recruit volunteers, develop the Volunteer program, and build relationships with employers, other nonprofits, and governmental agencies. You will receive professional development training, a $16,000 living allowance, a $6,345 education award, and opportunities to network in all sectors of the community.This opportunity is a joint venture between Volunteer Maryland and Justice Jobs of Maryland:Volunteer Maryland provides AmeriCorps Members with 11-month renewable commitments to nonprofit organizations across Maryland.Justice Jobs of Maryland is a nonprofit organization that offers employment services in Frederick, Maryland working with jobseekers facing barriers to employment to obtain gainful employment and build economic stability.The AmeriCorps Member at Justice Jobs of Maryland will engage in the following activities:Coordinate and expand our volunteer team:Reinforce existing and develop new avenues to recruit volunteersIncrease the headcount and diversity of our volunteer teamFacilitate volunteer onboarding and trainingFacilitate volunteer meetings with jobseekers on Zoom or in-personSend meeting reminder emails/texts/phone calls to jobseekers and volunteers Communicate with the program director about jobseeker and volunteer needs and concernsFormalize our volunteer program infrastructure:Revise our Volunteer Program Mission and Vision statementsRevise existing Volunteer Procedure Manual and create or revise Volunteer Policies and ProceduresCreate Volunteer Program applications, recruitment materials, screening materials and criteria, and interview/interview evaluation process and proceduresCreate and revise Volunteer Program training agenda and materialsCreate a Volunteer Program evaluation process and revise our existing evaluation toolsCreate a volunteer recognition plan and materials and implement the planRevise, amplify and utilize the existing Volunteer Program Tracking SystemMonitor and evaluate our volunteer program: o Review jobseeker progress logs for completeness and planning for future volunteer-jobseeker meetingsTrack jobseeker evaluations of services and formalize feedback loops to ensure appropriate quality and improvement of the programFollow up with volunteers and/or communicate the need for follow-up to the program director or executive directorConduct community organizing through employer recruitment:Recruit, engage, and track "second chance" employersReview and modify our communications materials to more effectively engage and partner with employers Coordinate with employers regarding jobseekers who meet their recruiting requirementsJustice Jobs of Maryland is located at 22 S.
