From strategic planning with CEOs, partnering with HR leaders on key projects, building high performing teams to coaching and recruiting the future of our client's organization.We are currently searching for a Director of US Benefits for a New York / New Jersey based global firm.Position Summary:Responsible for overseeing all aspects of US employee benefits, including planning, design, implementation, and administration, to support business objectives and attract and retain talent. This role leads the Benefits team and supports global benefits initiatives.Responsibilities:Lead a team of benefits professionals to design and implement benefits processes and programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, market competitiveness, and internal consistency.Provide expert advice and guidance on benefits matters to the benefits team, senior executives, leaders, and human resources.Communicate policies, practices, and guidelines effectively to all levels of the organization, including senior executives.Evaluate the competitiveness of existing benefits programs in health, welfare, wellbeing, and retirement; recommend and implement changes as needed.Build strong partnerships and collaborate with all levels within the organization to ensure benefits strategies align with and support business and HR strategies.Manage benefits brokerage relationships, including renewals, market competitiveness studies, remarketing efforts, cost reviews, and regulatory compliance.Oversee vendor relationships, balancing partnership and customer/client relations to proactively address issues and enhance the employee experience.Focus on developing robust wellbeing programs that connect employees to the company and community, provide education on physical, mental, and financial wellness, and improve employee engagement.Develop and implement comprehensive change management plans for new and existing program enhancements or changes.Conduct ongoing audits for internal compliance and adherence to local and federal statutes and laws.Motivate and develop the team, delegate effectively, and manage performance.Integrate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalate issues as needed.Qualifications:15+ years of US benefits experience7+ years in leadership or people management roles, preferably in a multinational environment.Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related benefits experience.Ability to develop benefits strategies and plans aligned with overall business objectives.In-depth knowledge of US benefits practices and industry trends, including health and welfare, qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.Expert level knowledge of non-qualified retirement plans.Exceptional project management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with particular expertise in HR projects.Strong business acumen with well-developed assessment, judgment, and critical thinking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures across all organizational levels.Capability to manage multiple priorities and transition seamlessly between day-to-day tasks and broader strategic initiatives.Ability to translate data into trends and insights to enhance decision-making quality.Proficiency in managing vendor relationships, balancing partnership, and achieving results.Strong collaboration and consulting skills, with the ability to guide, coach, and influence others.Proven experience in leading and developing teams.At HR Soul we celebrate an inclusive environment and provide equal opportunity for development and advancement.
