OVERVIEWSince 1899, Calvary Hospital has been dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients with advanced stages of cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Today, Calvary is unique among the more than 6,000 hospitals in the United States. Calvary is the country's only fully accredited acute care specialty hospital devoted to end-of-life care, with facilities throughout New York, including the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. At Calvary, we are devoted to our signature service, CalvaryCare®, which is exemplary, compassionate, loving care provided to our patients, no matter their location or financial resources. Every person who works at Calvary is committed to our core values. Most patients access end-of-life care at a very late stage. Calvary believes there is a better way, allowing patients to benefit from some hospice-oriented resources before making a more definitive choice for end-of-life care. Through the initiation of community palliative care services, we will grow the understanding of the importance of end-of-life care considerations, which will, in turn, create more opportunities for care, earlier in our patients' journeys, offering comfort, consistency and compassion at every stage. With no other institution or facility carrying out Calvary's unique mission, the time is now to extend Calvary's signature expert care to more of the patients and families who need it most. To that end, Calvary is embarking on our boldest fundraising campaign to date to make major investments in our mission and gold standard of care and to expand the availability of our services. This campaign is comprehensive in nature - comprised of ongoing annual fundraising efforts in addition to significant major gift campaign fundraising. To help ensure the success of this undertaking, as well as ongoing annual fund activities, the ideal Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations will bring relevant foundation relations experience, knowledge, and leadership skills to this position. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and continually expanding a portfolio of proposals to support existing programs and new initiatives. This individual will manage the schedule of renewal grants while assisting with stewardship of relationships with grant makers. We are looking for a savvy fundraiser who will combine a commitment to the institution's unique culture and historic mission with a passion for building relationships and working collaboratively and strategically to increase financial support. The search for this position is being conducted by The Munshine Group ().
