The Fire Protection Designer prepares layouts of sprinkler systems, detail drawings & diagrams. Plans prepared by designers include all views and dimensions necessary for the installation of a code compliant fire protection system.Responsibilities for Fire Protection Designer:Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using AutoSPRINK softwareCoordinate design with other building tradesProduce stock list of material required throughout job progressionCoordination with project manager and internal teamsRequirements for Fire Protection Designer:Thorough knowledge of NFPA Standards, government fire safety standards, and FM Global datasheetsDemonstrated proficient in AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office softwareCapable of performing hydraulic calculations and experience with 3D BIM coordinationHigh level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environmentAbility to work on multiple projects at the same time and meet established deadlinesPrioritize effectively, has good follow-through and practices self-implemented quality control measuresDetail-oriented and organizedMinimum Qualifications for Fire Protection Designer:Minimum of 3 years' experience in fire sprinkler designValid driver's license and the ability to maintain itNICET CertificationTravel Requirements for Fire Protection Designer:Rare overnight travel may be required.Work Location for the Fire Protection Designer:1) South Windsor, CT office 5 days a week - Hybrid and remote positions are not availableJob Type:Full TimeRecruitment Firms: We do not accept candidates from recruitment agencies.Wolverine Fire Protection Co. operates nationwide with regional offices that span coast to coast.
