The Associate / VP level Credit Officer is an integral part of the second line of defense at Natixis, whose primary role is to manage the review and credit assessment of Natixis' portfolio of covering the Bank's commercial real estate lending activities. The Credit Risk department is an independent risk oversight function. The Credit Officer evaluates credit risk transactions proposed by the business unit, provides satisfactory challenge, and recommends to Credit Committee for approval or rejection. Credit Risk interacts with the business unit to ensure that all information relevant to counterparty risk and anticipated return on equity are factored into the recommendation. Additional responsibilities include forward-looking identification of macro factors affecting the portfolio, portfolio monitoring and analysis, maintenance of various policies and procedures as well as timely approval of loan modifications and limit increases. He/she/they will assist the Group Head of CRE Credit Risk in:Maintaining constructive relationships with various business unit contacts to ensure responsiveness and appropriate prioritization for the pipeline of requests for on-boarding of new counterparties.Monitor and manage existing portfolio of CRE transactions. Prepare various portfolio analytical reports and presentations; stay connected with industry trends and macro issues which may impact the portfolio; be able to recommend changes or action impacting specific clients or groups of clients.Make presentations to Senior Credit Risk management, Credit Committee, and other internal stakeholders.Ensuring full ownership by the team of the firm's credit process and related policies, procedures, controls and reporting. This will include:Ensuring compliance with delegation authorities;Ensuring compliance with lending policies;Reviewing proper use of internal credit rating models, LGD models, RWA models and documenting such validations, including assumptions and approved overrides of output.Conduct detailed credit analysis and risk assessments for the Credit Risk group with a primary focus on Sponsor counterparties.Validating internal credit ratings, LGD and RWA.Participating in the overall management of the Credit Risk group as an integral member of the team, including sharing of ideas and experiences with other industry and functional teams, and contributing to the overall Risk culture of the team and of Natixis more broadly.Involvement in development of policies and limit frameworks, including periodic reviewing and validation of product and sector limits, as well as ensuring internal policies continue to be in line with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.Propose risk mitigation approaches on both an individual counterparty and a portfolio basis where appropriate.This role is hybrid and currently requires in office attendance 3 days/week. The in-office requirement is subject to change at any timeRequirements:3+ years in commercial real estate lending with exposure to CMBS and/or structured finance and CRE warehouse lending.Solid understanding of commercial real estate transactions and credit underwriting.Familiarity with loan workouts, special servicing or REO assets a plus.Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to quickly establish credibility with Credit senior management and senior deal team executives.Excellent attention to detail. Strong credit, analytical, and modeling skills.Knowledge and understanding of internal credit rating models and methodologies, as well as credit risk monitoring approaches and systems.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel ,and Argus (equivalent), as well as database management experience.Natixis is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a workplace free of discrimination. The salary range for the Associate position will be between $120,000 - $135,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.The salary range for the VP position will be between $140,000 - $185,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
