We have an exciting opportunity to become part of the leadership team of a dynamic organization. Our client, a distributor in Burlington, NJ, is looking for a Vice President of Warehouse Operations who will drive business growth, continuous improvement, strategic planning and operational efficiency. This is a position for someone who wants to spend their time on the warehouse floor with their staff, not in an office! Someone who wants to provide the leadership and vision to inspire team-building and support the efforts of supervisors to promote autonomy, accountability and professional development.Monday-Friday onsite - this is not a remote position.No relocation package. Qualified candidates must already be local to the location in Burlington, NJ.Salary starting at $165,000/year, commensurate with experience.Annual bonus opportunityJob SummaryThe Vice President of Warehouse Operations will lead and manage the warehouse operations of a seven-day per week/multi-shift operation :· Lead, mentor, and develop the warehouse team, including supervisors.· Develop and implement strategies and metrics to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity, utilizing KPI's and WMS.· Align warehouse operations with the overall business goals and objectives.· Strategically plan future growth, analyze capacity, capital requirements, forecasts, business objectives and organizational processes.· Manage the warehouse budget, including cost control and financial planning.· Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.· Accountable for achieving company objectives regarding cost, productivity, customer service and profitability.· Establish, evaluate, and maintain performance standards for all areas of the operation that can be measured to ensure accountability and customer service level agreements.· Ensure operating efficiencies by constantly reviewing performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities.· Plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure safe and sanitary work environments that follow the Company's policies, OSHA, FDA, quality assurance standards and other government regulations.· Participates in labor negotiations and other contract related activities and discussions.Qualifications:· BA degree preferred.· At least 6 years of progressive leadership experience working in a supply chain/distribution operation.· Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.· Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills. Strong analytical/problem solving skills to solve complex problems, generate ideas, and develop creative solutions.· Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.· Extremely proficient in MS Office and Accounting systems.· Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.· Familiarity with Good Warehousing Practices.· Experience operating and managing in a union environment, preferred.
