Job Title: Production ManagerOrganization: Veterans Repertory Theater (VetRep)Location: Cornwall, New York (Hudson Valley)Type: Full-TimeReports To: Executive TeamAbout Veterans Repertory Theater (VetRep)Founded in 2021, Veterans Repertory Theater (VetRep) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reinvigorating American theater through the work of veteran artists and writers. Based in New York's Hudson Valley, VetRep selects, develops, and produces compelling works by military veterans and first responders to offer world-class, unique, and original performances to a growing community of theatergoers. We are a national organization known for our Savage Wonder podcast, literary blog, and a series of dynamic, immersive performances at our flagship theater in Cornwall, NY. We are in the process of relocating to a 12,000 sf facility in Beacon, NY which will feature our mainstage, our variety house and an art gallery.Job DescriptionVetRep is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dynamic Production Manager to oversee and coordinate the technical and operational aspects of our productions and events. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that each production runs smoothly and aligns with VetRep's mission to reinvigorate American theater through the work of veteran writers and artists. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, from planning and budgeting to execution, and will work closely with the Executive Team, artistic staff, production teams, and external partners.Key Responsibilities:Production Planning & Coordination: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all VetRep productions, including full-length plays, staged readings, and Savage Wonder events.Budgeting & Resource Management: Develop, manage, and maintain production budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising artistic integrity.Staffing & Vendor Management: Hire, manage, and supervise technical crew, designers, and stage managers. Liaise with external vendors and service providers to coordinate technical elements, set construction, lighting, and sound.Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed production schedules, including rehearsals, load-ins, and performances. Ensure deadlines are met for all production milestones.Venue Operations: Oversee all aspects of venue operations, including logistics, safety protocols, load-ins/load-outs, and facility maintenance for performance spaces.Collaboration: Work closely with the Artistic Director, Directors, and the rest of the creative team to realize the artistic vision of each production. Serve as a communication hub between artistic and technical departments.Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all productions adhere to legal, safety, and labor requirements, including emergency protocols and risk assessments.Technical Oversight: Provide technical support and problem-solving for all production needs, including troubleshooting issues related to sets, lighting, sound, and special effects.Community Engagement: Build relationships with the local veteran and artistic communities, promoting VetRep's mission and encouraging participation in productions and events.Qualifications:Required:Proven experience as a Production Manager, Stage Manager, or related role in theater production.Strong organizational, budgeting, and time management skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.Experience working with vendors, technical crews, and creative teams.Proficiency with production scheduling, budgeting software, and technical equipment.Knowledge of health and safety regulations in theater production.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate across teams and departments.Passion for the performing arts and an interest in supporting veteran voices in the theater.Preferred:Current or former military, law enforcement, fire/EMS, intelligence services, foreign service, DoD employee/contractor or an immediate family members.Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.Technical knowledge of lighting, sound, and stagecraft.Why Join VetRep?Opportunity to contribute to a growing, mission-driven nonprofit that amplifies underrepresented voices in the arts.Work in a creative, collaborative, and supportive environment.Become a part of the vibrant Hudson Valley arts community.Engage with a diverse array of artistic projects, from full-length plays to unique immersive experiences.To Apply:Please send your resume and cover letter to info@ with the subject line "Production Manager Application - [Your Name]" Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.Veterans Repertory Theater is an equal opportunity employer.
