If this sounds like you, please read on!The Engineering & Support Senior Director is part of the TDS management team, reports to the CIO and oversees the strategic design, acquisition, management, and implementation of an enterprise-wide application and technology architecture. This role provides essential technology thought leadership and innovation, while leading teams in product management, application development, and quality assurance engineering. Additionally, the Senior Director monitors and analyzes technological trends to enhance AAOS's products and performance, establishes technology standards, and develops solutions that align with both technology and organizational strategies.Supervises the day-to-day activities of the product management support, development, and data quality engineering teams. Provide leadership and direct management to migrate toward a more agile and automatedcontinuous deployment cycle process methodology and culture. Responsible for delivery cycles and managing roadmaps that are aligned with new feature development roadmaps and project delivery requirements. Aligns engineering initiatives and tasks with business objectives, ensuring IT governance standards alignment and strategic value delivery. Ensures that development projects and tasks assigned are conducted in accordance with IT governance standards, completed on time, on budget, and meeting business needs. Defines organization standards for all custom coding processes across .NET, mobile, and other frameworks. Ensures that the AAOS source code repositories are managed according to standard operating procedures and policy, properly documented, and maintained. Acts as the technical architect for custom development and integration solutions. Approves project release cycles, collaborating with the Project Management Office, IT Operations, Data & BI teams, as well as constituent stakeholders and vendors. Collaborates with peers on project timing and deliverables. Assist in establishing IT policies, processes, and cyber security measures ensuring effective and consistent operations to safeguard information resources. Defines solutions architecture for all projects related to custom-built or vendor supplied solutions. Ensures all projects comply with the standards of the AAOS coding practices, data services bus, and custom APIs and Tech Stack. Manages security for all API and integration endpoints. Works with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure that 3rd party integration projects are properly defined and executed. Manages technical aspects of integration projects. Oversees budget activities related to third-party party integration projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budgetary constraints. Researches new platforms, frameworks, and other technologies to assess their value and potential to improve AAOS offerings. Makes necessary plans to adopt innovative technologies and processes and incorporates plans to sunset obsolete technologies. Provides overall mentoring to the product support, development, and data quality engineering teams. Identifies training and professional development needs that align with the AAOS technology vision and organizational strategic objectives. Travel: Up to 15 days per year Required:Qualifications: Master's degree in computer science, engineering or MBA preferred. 10+ years of software engineering and IT experience Minimum 5 years managing and leading development teams. Proven record of success in leadership positions Familiarity with marketing platforms, programs, and policies Minimum 7 years of experience leading custom development activities in a .NET development environment. Experience with MVC frameworks Good understanding and direct experience working with MS Azure Good understanding of IT Infrastructure and Security Expertise with custom and proprietary data integrations (Services, Microservices, APIs, Back-End Architectures) Proven solution architecture experience aligned with a solid technology strategy. Exceptional project management and organization skills Expertise managing source control methodologies in Microsoft TFSADO and other source management systems. Effective communication skills must be a natural collaborator. Ability to present proposed solutions to technical and non-technical audiences. Must show a high degree of business acumen and empathy. Outstanding technical planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask across a number of work streams. Must be highly collaborative with the ability to manage and motivate project teams and meet deliverables. Understanding data governance and data stewardship best practices. Must have a passion for continued improvement, learning, and mentoring. Knowledge of Content Management System (CMS) like Optimizely (Epi) or Sitecore or similar CMS systems Desired: Experience working with association management systems (Personify), CRM systems, Salesforce, SaaS platforms, and their customizations integrations. Experience with development platforms and technologies. Experience with medical data registries and outcomes analysis reporting preferred. Experience with Hybrid Cloud Architectures Experience with TOGAF - The Open Group Architecture Frameworks Experience with implementing and running critical ITIL disciplines. Experience with Azure Dev Ops tools Ability to successfully navigate selfteam through ambiguity to implement complex solutions.
