What This Position is All About Under direction from the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager, or in a large flagship the Alterations Services Manager, the Alterations Services Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and support to all of the Alterations Services Associates in order to provide outstanding service and meet the needs of the clients and selling organization.Who You Are: Proficiency in utilizing available technology, Word, Excel etc is required.Must be flexible in scheduling as the business needs evening weekend and holiday schedules.Ability to work well with others and resolve conflict, as well as the ability to work independently to drive a successful department.Pays attention to detail and is able to devise flexible and successful solutions to complex technical problems.Takes initiative in addressing challenges.Creates a positive work environment.You Also Have: Minimum 2 years tailoring experience with luxury merchandise preferredFashion Design Degree preferredAbility to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garmentsKnowledge of pattern making, draping and garment constructionDemonstrated ability to manage, develop, and motivate people while driving company and store initiatives.Demonstrated exhibition of sound business judgment, people management, and organizational ability.Strong verbal and written communication skills needed, fluency in a second language is an added benefit.As The Alterations Supervisor, You Will: Drive Workroom Excellence Create a professional work environment by communicating and exemplifying Saks Fifth Avenue standards of excellence.Responsible for reviews of all workroom associates.Deliver technical training and feedback to associates with regard to quality, productivity, and procedures.Understand workload requirements and monitor associate schedules to maintain appropriate workroom coverage.Maintain a clean and safe working environment.Responsible for upkeep and service to all workroom equipment including boilersteam support.Responsible for supply orders and organization.Ad hoc responsibilities as neededDrive Selling Support companystore initiatives and events.Assist with made-to-measure to ensure correct measurements are taken and match the resulting garment.Drive Service Create effective teamwork within the alteration workroom and between the workroom and selling organization, training and developing professional Alterations associates and satisfactorily addressing all customer service issues.Provide an exceptional and consistent customer service experience by recruiting, fee collection, re-alterations and COM.Work with AGMO to address Sales Associate compliance issues related to promise date.Drive Management of Controllable Profit & Expenses Achieve and exceed financial and performance goals.Monitor and ensure that Alterations systems, procedures and pricing policies are consistently implemented.Responsible for understanding and submitting all month end performance reporting.Your Life and Career at SFA: Be a part of a team of disruptors focused on stores and redefining the luxury experience.Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities, from retail to supply chain, to digital or corporateA culture that promotes a healthy, fulfilling worklife balanceBenefits package for all eligible full-time Associates (including medical, vision and dental)An amazing Associate discountSalary and Other Compensation:The starting hourly rate for this position is between [$22.24-27.80 per hour].
