The Employee Co-Invest Program facilitates the investment by Ares employees in Ares managed funds. The individual will have day-to-day operational ownership for numerous funds including, but not limited to, investor onboarding and relationship management, operations, reporting and servicing, and fund accounting responsibilities.The role requires an individual who is a strategic thinker and able to collaborate with various cross-functional teams to understand the challenges and needs of stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for managing and continuously improving the data, reportinginsights, technology, and processes needed to deliver a seamless investor experience to our internal investors. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with investment accounting andor investor portal implementations.The candidate must be resourceful, innovative, forward thinking and committed. The candidate must be focused on continuous improvement in accuracy and timeliness of ongoing management financial and operational reporting.Primary functions and essential responsibilitiesAssist in the coordination of new co-invest funds launch, including understanding fund structure and jurisdictions, coordination with various internalexternal parties, review of draft legal documentation for reporting requirements, assisting in the setup of lines of credit, and overall investors and fund onboarding processesMust be a player-coach and effectively manage relationships with internal resources (both US and Mumbai based) and external providers i.e.: fund administrator(s)Contribute effectively to the innovation efforts for the structuring and implementation of a streamlined and centralized investor operations solutionsAssist in coordinating and overseeing project plans, milestones, and updates to executive managementCoordinate with third party bankinglender relationships and internal and external auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlinesManage debt facilities and review compliance reporting, as applicableDevelop and oversee quarterly reporting deliverables and process in partnership with fund administrator(s)Participate in the review quarterly NAV reconciliations with fund administrator(s)Participate in the review quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosuresResponsible for ad-hoc limited partner, analyst, and investment team requestsTrain, mentor, and integrate the LA & Mumbai teamsSupervises: Mumbai based team members of 1-3 individualsQualificationsEducation:BSBA with major in Accounting, Economics or Finance, with outstanding academic recordCPA, preferredExperience Required: 6+ years of relevant work experiencePublic accounting experience (Big 4 preferred)Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environmentAbility to assist in managing several third-party relationshipsStrong understanding of U.S. GAAPStrong verbal and written skills; ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writingStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to multi-task and manage various deadlinesExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsInvestran, eFront, or other accounting software experience, a plusSungard Dx, Intralinks, or similar investor portal implementation experience, a plusGeneral Requirements:Proven experience of collaborating with teams in remote locations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and high level of supervisory oversightStrong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word (e.g.: complex formulas, macros)Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence tools, a plusExcellent time management skills and ability to collaborate with othersSuperior communication skills and a demonstrated ability to create content to a diverse audienceStrong client service orientationOutstanding leadership and project management capabilitiesOutstanding organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands; result orientedA solutions-oriented self-starter with the ability to see the big pictureAn analytical mind and a passioninterest in bringing new ideas to increase efficiency of existing processesA demonstrated ability to research and leverage available resources to accomplish the task at handGood judgment in terms of escalating issues vs. solving problems independentlyComfort in dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentEnergetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented approach; a zest for challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - often under pressure to meet demanding deadlinesStrong work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learnDependable, great attitude, highly motivated and a team playerHighest degree of integrity, motivation and intellectual curiosityReporting RelationshipsCompensationThe anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.$135,000 - $155,000The firm also offers robust Benefits offerings.
