Position OverviewThe Valuations Associate is part of a team responsible for Private Equity, Credit and Real Estate portfolio valuation reporting as well as valuation related exercises for AGM's public company reporting. The Valuation Associate will also provide a range of key portfolio company statistics and fund level results to various groups at Apollo including Marketing, Legal, Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Investor Relations.Primary ResponsibilitiesFacilitate the Valuation Process in the Private Equity, Credit, and Real Estate segmentsValue financial instruments and and complex corporate securitiesAnalyze equitydebtcommodities financial market data history and other quantitative techniquesDevelop a deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets, serving as a firm resource for that expertise and sharing that knowledge throughout ApolloCoordinate with third party valuation firms and deal teams to create accurate, timely valuationsValidate and update valuation models and inputs and assess applicable methodologiesCreate summary materials highlighting significant changesevents, to be presented to the valuations committees for their review and approval of all valuationsPerform advisory valuation services to various business units on an ad hoc basisProduce senior management reports summarizing the results of the fund's performance on a daily, monthly, and quarterly timeframeReview and update Fund reports and Marketing materials sent to existingpotential investors.Generate detailed materials and responses for Investor meetings, inquires and surveysPrepare documentation in support of compliance with SOX and external audit requirementsQualifications & Experience3-5 years of related work experienceExperience in building valuation models (DCF, Comp Multiple and Option Models)Experience with capital marketscredit valuations preferred (ex. illiquid investments, bank loans, mezzanine loans, and equity)Demonstrated technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of Alternative Investment strategies and productsAbility to complete financial models under the pressure of tight deadlinesApply modeling techniques to challenging, real-world problemsStrong functional background working with excelFamiliarity with financial services applications (CapIQ, Bloomberg, etc.) a plusBachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or EconomicsFinance, Valuations or Investment Banking training program preferredCFA professional designation or working towards preferred but not required
