The Office of Network Support provides administrative support, strategic direction, and leadership development to the schools within each network while also driving critical support that helps boost student learning.Job Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director of School Supports, the Manager of School Supports is responsible for supporting school performance, primarily by collaborating with the Executive Director on the development and implementation of cross-departmental plans for supporting lowunderperforming schools. The Manager of School Supports will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:Oversee the School and District Improvement Grant and processes for high schools.Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that the School and District Improvement Grant funds are being utilized to support school continuous improvement for high schools.Develop and maintain partnerships with external partners, including vendors and other stakeholders.Lead cross-departmental efforts to provide targeted support for individual school leaders and instructional teams.Encourage and demonstrate professional development via participation in staff development activities and conferences.Develop and facilitate professional learning presentations for the team and school leaders.Gather and analyze data to drive differentiated supports.Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with ISBE and NetworkSchool teams.Manage and communicate School Support Team initiative updates.Other related duties as required. In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Manager of School Supports must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityMaster's degree preferredValid teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education requiredExperience Required: Minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience as a teacher leader, instructional coach, or school administrator required; High School experience preferredExperience using various digital resources or technical media Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High level of instructional expertise, integrity, honesty, credibility, and the courage to make difficult yet necessary decisions.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including listening, speaking, and leadingfacilitating presentationsStrong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build collaborative relationships with a strong customer service focusAbility to function at a high level in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to manage professionals, review work effectiveness, and develop colleagues' skills as neededAbility to build collaborative relationships with a variety of constituent groups, including external partners, to ensure the entire system operates in the most effective manner possible to support schools and principalsAbility to define problems, analyze data, and outline valid conclusions and action stepsProficient in using Microsoft Office suite of tools. (e.g. Word, Excel)Strong attention to detailConditions of EmploymentAs a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:EstablishMaintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporarypart-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 - Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. "Up-to-date" on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
