Supervising Assistant - Breakfast (3.35 hr/wk)

Under general supervision, be responsible for the children in the lunch area and on the playground during lunch recess.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that might be performed. Supervision of children and maintaining orderAttend to the proper seatingDuties of children according to lunch plansDismiss children from lunch area to playground after immediate area has been cleanedSupervision of children on the playground QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of: Knowledge of the general needs and behavior of childrenRules for popular games and activities such as kickball, around the world, four square, tetherball, volleyball, softball, etc. Ability to: Establishmaintain effective relationships with children and understandcarry out oral and written directions Requirements QualificationsPatience, helpfulness, diligence, persistence and a willingness to work with staff, students and parents from widely different cultural and linguistic backgrounds Equivalent to completion of the twelfth gradeAll requirements must be provided when applyingLetter of Introduction (Please describe your experience working in andor out of a school setting with children )Proof of HS GraduationComments and Other InformationThe East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 9,000 children.
