The Bookkeeper will manage daily financial transactions, maintain accurate records, process invoices, and ensure timely reporting of company expenses.RESPONSIBILITIESPost and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payrollTrack and categorize company expenditures, ensuring all expenses are properly documented and classifiedReview expense reports submitted by employees, verifying receipts, approving transactions, and ensuring they adhere to budget guidelinesProcess vendor invoices and ensure timely paymentReconcile discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders or contractsCommunicate with vendors to resolve billing issues or discrepanciesPrepare and review expense variance reports for management to help identify potential cost-saving opportunitiesEnsure that all financial records and expense reports comply with company policies and relevant regulationsAssist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of expensesWork closely with department heads and managers to monitor and manage department-specific expenses Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a monthly basis Requirements Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a focus on expense reporting and financial reconciliations in a government contracting environmentExperience with accounting software Familiarity with expense management tools (e.g., WrkPlan, Concur, and other ERP systems) is a plusKnowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Experience working in a fast-paced environmentStrong accounting skills, an eye for detail, and experience in reconciling financial discrepancies and generating expense reports Excellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and an understanding of fundamental business writingExpertise in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)EDUCATION: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)COMPENSATION: Includes paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, 401k matching, life insurance, health, vision, and dental benefits.This position is not available for Corp-to-Corp or 3rd party sourcing.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
