Fund Accounting Financial Analyst

Purpose and Job Summary:NXT is currently seeking a financial analyst to support the Finance & Accounting Team in executing on its internal and external financial reporting obligations, as well as to assist in analyzing and explaining financial performance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Internal ReportingPrepare monthly internal financial statements that are delivered directly to managementMaintain monthly reconciliations of the NXT portfolio of investmentsRespond to ad-hoc requests for financial information from colleagues across the organizationAssist with a monthly variance analysis vs budget and forecastProvide a monthly flash estimate of financial performance in advance of each month-endExternal ReportingComplete monthly and quarterly financial reporting to be delivered to NXT's parent companyWork with external fund administrators on producing monthly and quarterly Fund and SMA financial reporting for asset management clients and investorsFacilitate reconciliation efforts between the NXT Operations team and external Fund Administrators for monthly Managed Vehicle reporting Respond to ad-hoc requests from investors, external auditors and government entitiesAssist in monthly fair value reporting for various SMAs - including delivering to client and responding to analytical questions from investors, auditors and internal managementCalculate monthly management fees for all asset management programs and deliver monthly invoices to clientWork closely with external auditors to facilitate a timely and efficient year-end audit processEducation, Skills and Experience:2-4 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a bank, finance company, asset manager, investment bank, fund administrator or accounting firmHighly skilled in Microsoft ExcelUnderstands business principles and language including the fundamentals of finance, accounting (GAAP and fund accounting) and planning and budgeting (FP&A)Advanced understanding of financial statementsStrong analytical and written communication skillsProfessional attitude, strong work ethic, independent thinker and a self-starterRequired:Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with senior management and peersDetail oriented and a good team player, effective working with othersExcellent organization skills, with ability to handle a wide variety of responsibilities, effectively multitask and meet tight deadlinesWillingness to take on special projects and streamline existing processesAn undergraduate degree is required - CPA a plusPreferred:Annual base salary gross: $85,000 - $99,000 (IL only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of the ORIX USA's salary for this position. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX USA's total compensation package for employees.
