Job SummarySUMMIT One Vanderbilt in New York City is a unique observation deck and art space that combines art, technology, and architecture. It offers panoramic views of all five boroughs, immersive art installations, and a multisensory experience. The Front of House Manager, reporting directly to the General Manager, holds duties related to assisting with day-to-day operations. The position entails a need for excellent communication skills; ability to multi-task, strong team leadership and ensures superior food and beverage quality and strong customer service skills. Key Responsibilities: Oversees daily operations ensuring that the servers, bartenders, cooks and supervisors are performing their duties up to the level of expectation.Provides enlightened hospitality to all guests while coaching all other team members to do so.Schedules, trains, manages, and develops staffManages daily inventory of food and beverageAssists with VIPS and special events as they are booked by the clientHandles guest inquiries and resolve issues promptlyUpholds all food safety and hygiene standardsMaintains a positive working relationship with staff, venue client and production teamWorks with vendors to increase positive cost resultsWorks in conjunction with venue house managers regarding attendance and staffing to achieve maximum results Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing others - Strong Communicator and demonstrated by ability to interact successfully with a variety of peopleExcellent computer skills, self-motivation, excellent planning skills and able to make timely and competent decisionsAbility to keep track of large inventories and budgetsAbility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidaysHave a quick grasp on what needs to be done and demonstrates a desire to leadCreativity while not overseeing the attention to detailWorking knowledge of the business as well as has knowledge of the marketFinance, Loss Prevention, and HR experiencesPrefer a college degree and management experience, particularly in the beverage industryCertification in service training, alcohol service, safe food handling and first aidExperience with knowledge of all state and local alcohol laws Apply to Union Square Events today!Union Square Events is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass Story Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
