Your role as a Security Officer (Part-Time): You will be primarily responsible for patrolling the ballpark during shifts, ensuring a safe ballpark environment for guests and employees.All the responsibilities we will trust you with: Patrol all ballpark property as required and ensures, in a friendly and professional manner, the security of employees, contracted building partners and visitors. Provide excellent customer service to the security of employees, contracted building partners and visitors by keeping a friendly and professional demeanorConduct magnetometer screening and bag search screening for all the security of employees, contracted building partners and visitorsRegulate and control access to restricted and secure areasDetect and resolve immediate safety and criminal issues; responds to the scene of an incident and acts as an emergency first responder if requiredConduct detailed internal investigations into incidents and provide detailed, objective reports for each shift or incidentAttend briefing sessions to learn what events and activities are occurring within the ballpark and ascertains the status of event "load-ins" and "load-outs"Act as property first responder to alarms, medical calls, property damages, etc.Maintain absolute confidentiality on sensitive issuesMaintain accurate notes and log information as required; ensure that all pass-on information is communicated to the next shiftComplete all activity logs, incident reports, repair forms and other documents in a clear, concise and legible format in a timely, efficient mannerGreet all clients, employees, guests and vendors at Petco Park in a professional mannerFollow established Ballpark Security protocols and procedures at all timesCollaborate with other departments within the organization to strategically create positive publicity for the ClubRepresents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all timesOther duties as assignedYour areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendancePossess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountabilityMust possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelinesProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience in 247 SOFTWARE INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, Avigilon CCTV System a plus but not necessaryHaving previous experience working in large public assembly facilities is a plus but not necessaryLarge event security experience is a plus but not necessaryHaving completed courses in criminal justice or security training by recognized academy, school or organization is a plus but not necessaryPossess BSIS Security Guard certifications a plus but not necessaryPrevious Law EnforcementPublic Safety experience a plus but not necessaryFluently bilingual in EnglishSpanish a plusYou will be required to meet the following:Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employmentHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)Non-Event Day Availability: Part-Time Security Officers must be available to work at least two eight-hour (8) shifts per week, which could include the selection of an 8-hour or 4- hour shift. The Part Time Security Officer will be expected to be available to work a bi-weekly schedule of 32 hours (16 hours per week) and will only be scheduled on an as-needed basisEvent Day Availability: Must be available and work a minimum of 60 home games during the baseballseason which includes days, nights, weekends and holidays. A schedule can be found at to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as neededMinimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark, stand for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to ascend and descend stairs; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds; able to ride a bicycle for prolonged periods of timeAs a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check Pay and additional compensation:Per the California pay transparency law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $20.54.
