AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIESMedicine Inpatient Units SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES•Upon discharge to the patient assemble all parts of the chart including items on the validation checklist.•At the beginning of each tour, compiles unit census, counts patients for census.•Ensures that all patient s has an ID arm band.•Makes arrangements with ambulance service transport as directed.•Post notices on bulletin board. Pick up doctor's Orders and complete and prepare labels and tags.•Completes 24-hour discharge notice submit to patient for signature notified change nurse if patient has clinical questions.•Completed Important Message for patients•Scan all documents for EMR is real time•Call 8211 code as directed and monitor telephones during any code.•Arranges for messenger service to transport specimen, mail and other items as needed.•Calls Medical Record Department for old charts requested and maintain a file for the old chart until patient is transferred or discharged.•Maintains stationary supplies, medical records in a neat and orderly fashion and in accordance with established standards.•Maintains compliance with Infection control and Safety Guidelines as set forth in each manual t assist in providing a safe environment.•Maintain a pleasant, well organized environment.•Assist in the orientation of new clerks.•Makes appointments for the discharge patients.•Assists in ensuring safe and secure environment free of hazards to reduce risk of injury to all patients, visitors and staff.•Effectively utilizes the electronic as well as the paper medical record.Minimum Qualifications1. A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and2.
