Apply promptly for full consideration.The OpportunityThe Regional Development Manager works on a range of priorities, including developing and linking fund development strategies and advancing donor cultivation and communication practices. The Manager will work with senior and executive leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive regional giving set of initiatives that consistently meets agreed-upon goals in alignment with departmental objectives, CEO's strategic plan, and central budget needs. They will play a lead role in creating compelling fund development strategies and ensuring those strategies are effectively represented in concept papers, grant proposals, donor communications, etc. They pilot new approaches to development and donor engagement, and create the resources needed to build internal capacity for grant writing and fundraising across the organization.As part of our mission, we strongly encourage individuals who have lived experience of incarceration or involvement in the justice system to apply for this role.Who We AreThe Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides employment services to people recently released from incarceration. Across the United States, 8,000-9,000 people participate in CEO each year, transitioning to employment that supports themselves, their families, and their communities.What began as a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice in the 1970s to address employment barriers facing the formerly incarcerated following release in New York City has grown into the leading reentry employment organization in the country, where over 30,000 formerly incarcerated individuals have secured full-time employment since 1996.Who You AreYou have 5+ years experience in nonprofit fund development, programs, andor strategic communications with a proven track record of success in project managementYou have 2+ years of previous people management experienceYou have fluency in use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google WorkspaceYou have proficiency or experience using data andor donor management platforms such as SalesforceYou have excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skillsYou have superior writing and strategic communication skillsYou have the ability to support and coach others when it comes to producing quality contentYou have the ability to effectively lead a team to meet tight deadlines, re-prioritizing as needed, communicating potential conflicts before they arise, and balancing and executing on feedback from a variety of collaboratorsYou have understanding of the importance of using metrics to drive performance and identify potential improvement areasYou have the ability to lead a diverse team as well as hire, onboard, and coach staff toward continuous improvement and attainment of goalsWhat You'll Be Responsible ForKey responsibilities of the Regional Development Manager include but are not limited to:Strategy and Planning SupportWork with the Director of Institutional Giving and the Executive Vice President to develop strategic and tactical regional approaches that build CEO's fund development pipeline (across foundation, corporate, government, and individual giving) and successfully leverage resources to support growthSupport fund development learning and sharing across jurisdictions, including implementation of site work plans, target identification, pitch and proposal preparation and follow ups, effective stewardship of awarded grants, and exchanging bestpromising practices that support site-level fund development execution and capacity buildingServe as the lead writer, editor, and project manager for select high-dollar or high-importance regional funding opportunitiesEngage directly with funders to prospect grant opportunities and report on outcomesTeam Management and Support Manage, evaluate, support, and coach a team of AssociatesOrganize professional development opportunities for Associates that build a strong team culture, reduce turnover, and improve staff satisfactionConduct workflow analysis and lead initiatives designed to increase efficiencies and solve problems using project management best practicesLead after action reviews to assess the processes and outcomes of assigned projects using data and qualitative inputPerform other development, strategic communication, and business development project-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Institutional Giving and senior staffQuality Assurance and Process ImprovementMaintain accurate and timely regional funding pipeline and outcome dataEnsure that proposals, reports, and other written products contain up-to-date informationlanguage, are edited, are of the highest quality, and are submitted on time and error-freeWork with program and central administration colleagues to problem-solve and improve workflowsEnsure that information is regularly and accurately updated in CEO's Salesforce system and other tracking toolsCompensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $75,900 -101,500annually. CEO's compensation philosophy considers a variety of factors including experience, internal equity, and the labor market associated with the city in which the position is located. The labor markets associated with the cities in which CEO is based are variable, and the salary range included here reflects this. Our salary offer will fall within this range and will be reflective of the labor market of the city in which the position is based, as well the other factors named above.
