Our committed and well-trained workforce professionals deliver comprehensive workforce solutions at integrated career centers, sector-focused centers and community, and partner sites.Job DescriptionWorks as part of a team of specialists and care managers assisting customers to successfully receive federal disability benefits Supports an assigned caseload of individuals in following-up on applicationsMakes regular contact with customers to review the status of the application and any needed documentation for submission to the Social Security Administration Provides counseling and support for customers to comply with any requestsMay conduct workshops for customers on the process and the importance of timely receipt, review, and response to requestsConducts outreach to customers who have disengaged from the application and review process to ensure re-engagement and completion of all required processes. Uses elevated outreach processes (phone, letters, contact with friends or relatives, email and texts, home visits)Tracks customer participation in the determination process and reports accordinglyReceives and uses daily, real-time feedback on the effectiveness of their work and uses it to improve performance as warrantedUnderstands and follows all policies and procedures related to the processUses standard forms and online processes to conduct and document work activitiesQualificationsAssociates Degree or higher in social services or a related field such a psychology, human services, vocational rehabilitation, or occupational rehabilitationFour years direct customer service experience in a clinical or social service environmentExperience in a fast-paced, team environment that is performance drivenExceptional customer service and engagement skills; prefer training or experience in motivational interviewing techniquesExcellent organizational skills and strong attention to detailExperience with publicly-funded programs; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families experience preferableExperience in assessing the need for and making reasonable accommodations for customersKnowledge of laws and regulatory requirements related to program responsibilitiesAbility to use various electronic systems to carry out duties and responsibilitiesAdditional InformationPay range: $23.56 to $24.88Equus Workforce Solutions is a leading provider of workforce development services in North America.
