This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to work with the Event operations team at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company prepares to head into our Peak Season, SpringSummer. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about operations, enjoys problem solving, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).As an Events General Manager, you are involved with event management and execution in New York City, as well as providing support in additional markets across the country. You will be responsible for planning, and executing ice cream truck, cart and other on-site events.This role will be active from April to mid-September 2025.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEvent ManagementManage all on-site event executionAct as the main point of contact for clients day-of, and liaise with internal stakeholdersProvide excellent customer serviceMaintain a safe and clean environment for customers and employeesRoll out new menu items to team membersAssist in creating BEOs with event details in TripleseatEnsure availability of merchandise and services by communicating with vendors, and maintain inventoriesProvide wrap-up reports outline successes and areas to improveEnsure all permits and licenses are up to dateTeam ManagementHire, train, and supervise a strong and efficient event operations teamSchedule sufficient staff for each event and create working schedules according to local labor lawsProcess weekly payroll in a timely and accurate mannerOrder and maintain uniform supply and successfully hold all employees to uniform standardsMaintain staff job results by coaching, counseling, disciplining, and terminating employeesVehicle Maintenance Responsible for ice cream truck, cart, van and equipment maintenance, including regular check ups, cleaning and repairsSchedule and arrange for truck and cart vinyl wraps with third party vendorDevelop vehicle guidelines and policies, as well as a training programCommunication Work directly with our event sales team to review upcoming events on a weekly basisDevelop and maintain partnership with warehouse, supply chain, and retail leadersWork directly with third party partners for vehicle maintenance, vehicle wraps, and other event needsJOB REQUIREMENTS2+ years experience in events, food, service industry; food truck experience a plusPrior experience managing a team preferredMust be comfortable driving ice cream truck in NYCExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and highly organizedProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and well under pressureAbility to multitaskNYC DOH Food Handlers license requiredValid driver's license requiredVan Leeuwen Ice Cream is committed to pay transparency and equity among all employees and provides employees an environment where pay transparency and dialogue on compensation are allowed.
