For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the bandlevel, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth.The Union Vicinage is seeking a skilled, innovative, self-starter to join the Operations Division (Jury Management) under the general direction of the Assistant Operations Division Manager responsible for jury management. The selected candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills. This highly motivated individual will work closely with jury management staff providing direction, structure, team support, jury management decision-making and technical expertise. The selected candidate must exhibit an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record for providing excellent customer service. Example of Duties Under the general direction of the Court Executive 1b (Jury Manager), the selected candidate will:Administer Jury Management functions, including but not limited to, summonses, jury orders, excusals, deferments, and disqualificationsCreate jury poolsProcess jury management payrollAnalyze statistical reports from NJJMSConduct petit, grand and state grand jury orientationProcess jury pools and listsSupervise staff and prioritize workCommunicate policies, rules, andor regulations to staff andor team membersApply statutes and court rules to manage jury programsAdvise management on issues with the public and other divisions andor agenciesAnswer questions posed by judges, the public, clients, customers complaints, co-workers, subordinates or supervisorsDetermines appropriate services for summoned jurorsAct as back-up to the Jury ManagerPerforms back up duties within other units of OperationsPerforms additional duties as assigned.Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of paraprofessional andor professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in purchasing, facilities management, operations management, records retention, transcript services, jury management, statistical reporting, investigations andor library administration. Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional andor professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional andor professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above. Education Note: Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
