Senior Accountant

Job DescriptionAn instrumentation manufacturing company is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant. Looking for someone who has previous experience using SAP and has a background handling month and year end close. The ideal person for this position has relevant ERP experience and is comfortable with high level closing procedures.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making processes within the organization.Manage budgeting activities, including forecasting and variance analysis.Ensure adherence to SOX compliance by maintaining proper internal controls over financial reporting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on financial performance and operational efficiency.Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or upgrades to existing systems.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.Extensive knowledge of regulatory reporting standards and technical accounting principles.Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and QuickBooks; experience with other accounting software is a plus.Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger operations.Proven experience in accounts payable management and financial analysis.Familiarity with budgeting processes and techniques.Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
