Details Client NameMount Sinai - Harlem Health Center Job TypeTravel OfferingNon-Clinical ProfessionNon-Clinical SpecialtyBilling Representative Job ID30611726 Job TitleBilling Specialist Weekly Pay$803.68 Shift Details ShiftDay - 8x5 - 09AM Scheduled Hours40 Job Order Details Start Date03032025 End Date07052025 Duration18 Week(s) Job DescriptionJob Title: Billing Specialist Job Specialty: Coding for Office, Outpatient, and Inpatient Physician Services Job Duration: 18 months Shift: Part time, Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 9 AM to 5 PM (24 hours weekly) Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours weekly Experience: Minimum of four years in medical practice or outpatient coding License: Not specified Certifications: CPC from an accredited institution preferred Must-Have: - Medical practice business office or patient accounts experience preferred- Knowledge of computer medical billing andor electronic medical record systems (such as Epic and IDX)- Knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies- Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills- In-depth knowledge of CPT4 and ICD9 coding and its applicationsJob Description:- Implement and manage the outpatient and provider coding process for physician services.- Validate and determine appropriate coding levels by reviewing clinical documentation.- Ensure all charges for procedures and related services align with clinical documentation.- Prevent denials and underpayments by ensuring compliance standards are adhered to.- Develop educational materials to guide providers on regulatory or payer policies.- Identify and assist with implementing documentation and revenue enhancement opportunities.- Collaborate with clinical staff to identify and implement coding modifications.- Review and distribute coding-related information to clinical staff, including updates on CPT and ICD-9 codes.- Assist in the development of fee schedule updates.- Resolve any coding-related errors, edits, and denials.- Work with clinical staff, administrators, and financial counselors to identify reimbursable treatment indications.- Continuously review the revenue cycle with the management team.- Participate in education programs to maintain up-to-date coding skills.- Participate in random chart audits to ensure appropriate documentation, coding, and billing.- Prepare presentations for physician and staff practices as needed.- Oversee the work of less experienced staff as required.
