Job description Leading Freight Forwarder in the Los Angeles area is seeking an import agent to join their growing branch! Salary: $21.00-$22.00 an hour Responsibilities: Shipment coordination (setup of shipments andor amendments to existing shipments based upon client directives. Quote requests- obtain competitive and unique price solutions able to satisfy clients requests relative to shipment particulars provided. Manage all import and export documentation. Tracking updates- Input milestonetracking updates and provide client updates as shipment progress is obtained throughout duration of shipment move. Must be able to negotiate with vendors as needed to gain "spot" or preferred contract pricing as needed andor determined Diligently manage all aspects of tracking shipments to ensure shipment is moving as scheduled and update system milestones immediately upon verification Desired Qualifications: High school diploma required, preferred 1-2 years of experience, but not mandatory Passing backgrounddrug screening for TSA requirements Strong verbal and written skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in MSWord, Excel, Outlook Problem solving skills, Must be able to handle pressure situations and multi task Ability to work well in flexible, dynamic work environment
