Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with strong SAS programming and SQL skills to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisionsThe ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with business acumen to deliver meaningful analysis and recommendations.The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about using data to solve complex business problems.Must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain SAS programs for automated reporting and advanced statistical analysisCreate and optimize SAS stored procedures and views for improved data accessibilityMaintain and develop data interfacesTroubleshoot system and batch processingDesign and execute complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from multiple sourcesCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutionsBuild and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and share business insightsIdentify trends and patterns in data to support strategic decision-makingDocument technical processes and maintain data dictionariesValidate data quality and implement data cleaning proceduresMentor junior analysts in SQL and SAS best practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field5+ years of experience in SAS programming to mine, alter, manage, retrieve, and combine data from a variety of sources and perform statistical analysisProficient in SAS programming, including macro development and PROC SQLProficient with SAS data integration and query tools5+ years of advanced SQL skills including complex joins, window functions, and query optimization3+ years of experience in data visualization and toolsStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking skillsExcellent communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiencesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in related fieldKnowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning conceptsHealthcare or financial services industry experienceCertifications in SAS or SQLFamiliar with SAS Procurement Integrity solutionTechnical SkillsSAS: Base SAS, SASSTAT, SAS Macro language, PROC SQLSQL: Complex querying, stored procedures, performance tuningLinux: shell scripting, process scheduling, application scheduling, basic peripheral devices, and file systemsDatabase platforms: SQL Server, Oracle, or similarAPI developmentData visualization: Power BI, Tableau, or similarMicrosoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysisTECHNICAL SKILLS Must Have•Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field•5+ years of experience in SAS programming to mine, alter, manage, retrieve, and combine data from a variety of sources and perform statistical analysis•Proficient in SAS programming, including macro development and PROC SQL•Proficient with SAS data integration and query tools•5+ years of advanced SQL skills including complex joins, window functions, and query optimization•3+ years of experience in data visualization and tools•Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills•Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences•SAS: Base SAS, SASSTAT, SAS Macro language, PROC SQL•SQL: Complex querying, stored procedures, performance tuning•Linux: shell scripting, process scheduling, application scheduling, basic peripheral devices, and file systems•Database platforms: SQL Server, Oracle, or similar•API development•Data visualization: Power BI, Tableau, or similar•Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis•Master's degree in related field•Knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning concepts•Healthcare or financial services industry experience•Certifications in SAS or SQL•Familiar with SAS Procurement Integrity solution
