Program: Family & Community Resource Center (FCRC)Position: Family PartnerReports to: FCRC Clinical Supervisor Hours: Full-Time, 40 hoursweek FLSA Category: Non-ExemptPosition DescriptionFamily Services of the Merrimack Valley (FSMV) is seeking a full time (40 hoursweek) Family Partner for its Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC) to work at its Lawrence-based "Family & Community Resource Center" (FCRC). The FCRC, located at One Union Street in Lawrence, provides parent education programs, youth and parent support groups, information and referral, educational support, cultural events, and other opportunities for families with children from birth to age 18. The Family Partner will be part of the FCRC team working with families experiencing a range of issues that impact their home and family life. The Family Partner will specifically focus on supporting families with children exhibiting behaviors that meet the state of Massachusetts' definition of a CRA "Child Requiring Assistance" (repeatedly runs away from home; repeatedly fails to obey the lawful and reasonable commands of their parentguardian; repeatedly fails to obey the lawful and reasonable regulations of their school; is habitually truant; or is sexually exploited).General Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork in conjunction with the FCRC Clinician to complete the CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths) Assessment to develop a Family Support Plan for family members experiencing CRA-related issues. Oversee the implementation of a Family Support Plan with support from additional applicable FRC staff.Work with all family members who are involved with the FCRC with prioritization for families experiencing CRA-related issues. Link family with appropriate services in the community, advocating for families when necessary. Provide SpanishEnglish verbal and written translation services between FCRCFSMV employees andor collateral contacts and families as needed.Co-facilitate youth support groups, parenting group sessions and other FCRC events and activities.Administer, collect, and enter all required data collection information into a Customer Relationship Management database system (CRM). RequirementsQualificationsPersonal or professional experience with youth and families experiencing adolescent at-risk social andor emotional behaviors.Bilingual proficiency in SpanishEnglish in both verbal and written forms is required. High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in personally navigating or providing services to others in social serviceschild welfare systems. Personal andor work experience directly related to CRA related issues as noted above is highly desirable . Demonstrated proficiency in data entry and computer skills (including Microsoft products) as well as the ability to learn new software applications.Demonstrated cultural competence with an ability to work with diverse populations, within the community as well as with FSMV employees and collateral contacts.Experience andor aptitude in conducting group presentations including the use of visual aids such as PowerPoint.Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as client engagement skills.Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 2 evenings per week and 1 Saturday per month is required.Desired QualificationsPrior experience with youth and families exhibiting behaviors or actions such as running away, oppositional and or defiance with adults, truancy andor has been or suspected as having been sexually exploited.Responsible individual capable of working independently as well as within a team structure.Prior experience with strengths-based assessments and Individual Development Plans.Experience working collaboratively with state agencies, child and family-serving organizations, schools, courts, health care providers and other community agencies. Knowledge about the Lawrence community is PENSATION AND BENEFITS This is a 40 hour per week, non-exempt benefited position with a pay range $20-21 per hour, based on education, skills, and experience.
