In this newly created role, they are looking to find a Senior Accountant to join their team near Palatine, IL to take ownership over the month-end close process and collaborate with the finance team to meet deadlines for reporting, financial consolidation, budget preparation, tax filings, and related tasks.Job DescriptionSenior Accountant Responsibilities:Collaborates with the finance team to meet deadlines for reporting, financial consolidation, budget preparation, tax filings, and related tasks.Works alongside the manufacturing controller to analyze and compare actual results against budgeted figures.Verifies data accuracy, ensures completeness, and makes necessary corrections to meet deadlines.Develops and enforces internal controls and procedures for financial transactions and budget planning.Assists in the preparation of business reports, financial projections, and yearly budgets.Helps in generating monthly financial statements, ensuring adherence to established accounting principles or financial reporting standards.Actively participates in audit preparation, providing necessary documentation for both financial and compliance audits, and supports audit planning throughout the year.Reviews and audits financial records to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, coordinating with external auditors to provide required information for annual audits.Assesses contracts to evaluate potential accounting and financial risks.Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations.Develops work flow diagrams for accounting processes, creates written procedures, and maintains detailed documentation.Performs monthly reconciliations and detailed analyses of general ledger pletes other duties as assigned or required.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
