Job Summary: PART-TIMEThe Jewish Home at Rockleigh is a state of the artlong-term and sub-acute care center located in Northern Bergen County. Theprimary focus of the position is to fulfill the requirements of supervising thepreparation of foods in accordance with Orthodox Jewish Law Standards as set forthby KHC and Rabbi Avrohom Friedlander, as well as handling of the cooking responsibilities within Jewish Home at Rockleigh Kosher kitchen, Sunday -Friday 6:00am-2:30pm or Sunday -Thursday 2:30pm-7:00pm.Responsibilities: Supervise all incoming shipments of food andother supplies into the kitchen and set asidesend back any non-approved itemCheck invoices for accuracy and food listed forkashrutEnsure properaccurate labeling of dates to allfood productsBe attentive to any mixtures of meat and dairyproductsutensils and equipmentKasher utensils only when so instructed by the KHCInspectwash vegetables on a regular and timelybasis, based on the schedule given by the Director of Dining ServicesdesigneeInspect periodically all nurses stations,nutrition rooms, StaffResident Dining Rooms, and all vending machinesMust double-check all sheet pans, pots, hotelpans for steam tables and utensils to ensure that they are placed in theirproper location, either meat or dairyAssist with retrieving trays from the residentunit areasProvide delivery of dietary requests to allresident unitsAll cooking responsibilities pertaining to the given shift worked for the kosher kitchenInventory and Prep needed in fulling the Kosher menuMaintaining and organization of the Kosher kitchenFollowing all regulatory kitchen requirements including sanitation, temperatures and labeling EducationalRequirementsYeshiva EducationKnowledge of Laws of KashrutCooking experience within healthcare is preferredExperienceAt least one (1) year of supervision in a Kosher facilitypreferred
