We're just getting started-join us on our journey to make mental healthcare accessible to everyone, everywhere.Spring Health is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. The Tax Staff Accountant will be responsible for reconciliations, journal entries, and various general ledger tasks. The ideal candidate will bring an analytical mindset and a commitment to process improvement, accuracy, and efficiency within our accounting processes.What you'll be doing: Income taxAssist in tax compliance outsource provider management Assist in completing the Research and Development study. Create and maintain online accounts for various tax authorities Assist in resolving tax notices and controversies with various tax authorities as well as coordinate internally with the payroll team on applicable direct non-income taxTake ownership of indirect tax compliance for US sales and use tax, gross receipts, value added tax, digital services tax, and other indirect taxes globallyReview and confirm monthly source data used for indirect tax returnsPrepare indirect tax returns in-house where applicableMaintain and track all tax returns, working papers and other relevant documents in our internal files. Assist in developing and maintaining internal standard operating procedures for compliance processesSupport the month-end close process by booking tax journal entries, performing variance analyses on account balances, and preparing account reconciliationsSupport in current and new business initiatives as applicable for indirect taxWhat success looks like in this role:Month-End Close Accuracy and TimelinessBalance Sheet Reconciliation AccuracyManagement of indirect tax processesIdentify areas of efficiency and improvement for the team to be able to automate and scale overall solutionsWhat we expect from you: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field1-2 years of tax account related experience requiredNetSuite platform experience preferredDemonstrable understanding of tax compliance and payment processesTeam player and adaptable to change Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent time management skillsWell planned, organized with keen attention to detailThe target base salary range for this position is $59,200 - $74,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Databaseat minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
