Symrise - always inspiring more...About the RolePosition Summary: The Customer Service Representative will support our Food & Beverage division. This role performs the daily Customer Service activities and process flow check-ins from order to payment to ensure order fulfillment. Responsible for account management support of assigned accounts. Provides proactive communication regarding account activity to Sales, Finance, Marketing, and entire supply chain (internalexternal). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Acts as primary contact for assigned accounts. This includes receipt and confirmation of customer orders which involves researching material availability, available price record confirmation, shipping method and relevant Customer Service reporting activities, as well as the pro-active review of customer's forecast data (assigned accounts) and uploads into SAP andor Sage. Maintain systems in Lotus Notes, Sage, and SAP. This includes responsibility for new business, lost business, first time production, designated SAP master data and error message follow up. Should also provide recommendations for SAP andor Sage changes where applicable to increase efficiencies. Works closely with Supply Chain to review order status, coordinate changes, obtain accurate information regarding shipments through SCM meetings. Information is utilized to provide routine updates to our customers regarding changes in supply. Provides order related documentation to our customers such as invoices, certificates of analysis and pro-forma invoices. Works with credit department to research necessary information to complete credits, debits and any special billing in a timely manner. Ensures all customer complaints are entered and follow up is provided to the customer either formally or informally as required. Work with Sales and QM to communicate effectively. Assists management in training of customer care through support with procedure documentation and customer profile development. Provide back up support with customer care. Interacts and works closely with sales coordination and account managers through the trial order process. About YouRequired Qualifications: High School Diploma GED or equivalent education required. College degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years in customer service within a manufacturing environment (not in a call center). Experience in the chemical industry desired. Knowledge of international shipments and foreign language is desirable. Experience with order processing. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Must have experience working with a variety of systems aside from MS Office (i.e. SAP, Sage, JD Edwards, AS400, etc.) Experience with SAP andor Sage is desired. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external customers in written and verbal form. Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through with multiple projects. Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize under pressure. Ability to deal with conflict and able to influence across functional lines.
