About the job Sr. Finance Analyst Job Summary:The Finance Projects and Strategy team is responsible for developing and managing an active list of department initiatives and projects. The team is dynamic, requiring a creative approach to problem solving and the ability to think strategically. The firm is looking to recruit an individual with financial services experience to own and manage the Chart of Accounts for the team, assist in business analysis, data governance, project support and data analytics for both ongoing and expected areas of focus for the Finance department.Principal Responsibilities:Business Analyst dedicated to the needs of the PM (Portfolio Manager) CompensationReporting and Analysis teamRepresent the Finance team in cross-departmental projects impacting the PM Compensation teamWork with users to determine root cause issues and to plan for remediationWork closely with Finance-dedicated Developers to ensure business requirements are understoodWork with developers and users to devise testing (UAT) plans, and manage the testing processPerform data analysis and develop solutions to support needs of the Finance departmentProvide project management and support for PM Compensation teams extensive book of workBuild relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and use those relationships to ensure proper execution of book of workQualificationsSkills Required:8+ years of relevant experiencePrevious experience with compensation or commission calculationsUnderstanding of data modelling and data attributes needed to perform complex calculationsProject management experience, including ability to synthesize and communicate project information to Finance managementHigh level understanding of Financial Reporting Accounting team responsibilities (financial statement preparation, analytics, reporting)Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills (pivot tables, advanced macros, VBA);Skilled at communicating with impact to effectively manage upward to influence decisionsAdvanced quantitative and problem-solving skills, as well as intellectual curiosityQuick learner and detail oriented; demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of workPerseverance and ability to deal with uncertaintyAbility to prioritize in a fast paced, high pressure, constantly evolving environment, strong sense of urgencyAble to operate with limited direct supervisionStrong control mindset, analytical skills and high degree of accuracy with a passion for data qualityAbility to work independentlyBachelors Degree is required
