Any subsequent tour of duty extension beyond the second tour will be based on the Agency's needs.DutiesThe Deputy Federal Security Director- Mission Support (DFSD-MS) serves as the principal advisor to the Federal Security Director (FSD) on all matters concerning the administration and business support of a major airport (i.e., headcount equal to or greater than 701). The DFSD-MS serves as a first line or higher level supervisor typically over multiple units, projects, or programs within an airport; strategic planning of a mixture of routine and challenging work; assigning tasks and responsibilities and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; coaching and developing employees; approving leave; taking or approving correctivedisciplinary actions; managing budget and assigned resources including leading and integrating the planning process for short and long term requirements applying a detailed knowledge of the technical work as well as budget, human resources, and applicable policies and processes; developing and approving solutions to current and anticipated problems independently and establishing new policiesprocedures or making exceptions to policiesprocedures that impact the strategic objectives of the airport as well as internal and external customers.Work is typically reviewed on what is accomplished and results achieved. Impact of work typically affects TSA policies and objectives and regularly affects personnel inside and outside the organization. Participates andor directs fiscal analysis and research in support of the preparation and administration of capital and operating budgets.As a Deputy Federal Security Director- Mission Support (DFSD-MS) for Security Operations (SO), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), your duties will include:Directing the work of supervisors, program managers, and other subordinate employees for multiple administrative and operational functions.Preparing, planning, coordinating, and managing support operations that include administration, financialbudget, human resources, customer servicestakeholders, training, procurement, logistics, and engineering services.Conferring with the FSD and project staff personnel to outline work plans, provide technical advice, resolve problems, review status reports, and modify schedules to accomplish duties. Identifying and determining types of actions required to meet time frames and budgetfunding limitations.Setting up procedures to meet the FSD's staffing requirements and providing necessary resources to accomplish projects.Managing or conducting targeted recruitment and other external marketing sources to assist in providing diverse applicant pools to the FSD.Advisinginforming the FSD on unusual or complex managerial or personnel disciplinary issues.
