Identifies activities that the System has implemented to promote patient safety and takes the necessary steps to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Acts in compliance with NYC Health & Hospitals, health care setting and other appropriate regulatory requirements and patient safety standards, participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives relating to patient transport.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:•Supervises the department's operational flow and manages staff, routes, and schedules; interprets data ti identify trends and other factors that impacts operational activity.•Supervises patient escorttransport staff and responds to patient concerns to promote quality patient care.•Assists social workers, physicians, nursing and other appropriate staff with patient transport issues, provides assistance with vendor, patient andor staff concerns.•Prepares patient escort assignments and monthly schedules, monitors and adjust schedules for proper coverage; prepares and maintain timekeeping responsibilities for staff.•Trains and orients new employees and act as a resource for staff on any operational questions or patient transport matters.•Manages supplies and maintenances the department and patient equipment. Ensures patient transport equipment needs are met and resources for such equipment are available.•Performs other related work assignments and assists in special projects as assignedDepartment Preferences•Knowledge-comprehension of a body of information acquired by experience or study.•Skill-a present, observable competence to perform a learned activity.•Ability-competence to perform an observable behavior or a behavior that results in an observable product.•Include a list of required skills for the role.•You may also outline any soft skills that are required (e.g., ICARE, communication and problem solving).Responsibilities1. High School diploma or its educational equivalent; and two (2) years of experience working as a patient escort or patient transporter or relevant work experience; and one (1) year of supervisory experience in a health care environment; or2. Associate's degree; and two (2) years of experience, as described in #1 above; or3.
