We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel specializing in Employment, HR, and Contract Law to join our team. Why Work with ABCO? Competitive salary starting at $80K (commensurate with experience). Fully remote this position, you will play a key role in ensuring ABCO operates within applicable legal frameworks while maintaining ethical and regulatory standards. Experience in employment law, HR policy creation and development, and contract management is a must.Key Responsibilities: Expertise in both multi-state and federal employment law. Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies that align with legal requirements; monitor compliance with federal, multi-state, and local regulations. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers and vendors; collaborate to resolve disputes and protect company interests. Company Certifications: Ensure compliance with industry certifications and maintain necessary legal and regulatory standards. Training and Communication: Conduct training for employees on compliance matters; create and distribute legal communication materials. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify compliance risks and implement strategies; perform regular audits to ensure adherence to policies. Position Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications Over 5 years of experience in employment law, HR policy, and contract negotiation; experience in the maintenance or construction industry is preferred but not required. Juris Doctor (JD) or similar degree with specialization or experience in Employment, HR, or Contract Law. Candidates should have a solid employment history with at least one position held for five years or more, avoiding frequent job changes elsewhere. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address legal and compliance issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Ability to stay current with legal developments and adapt policies accordingly.
