Formulates and institutes effective strategies and policies that focus on cost-effective health care services, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and service delivery. Assesses and makes recommendations regarding Radiology Department safety and training guidelines, departmental operations and processes, leading to improved patient experience and outcomes.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Coordinates and attends regularly scheduled departmental meetings i.e., staff, in-service, training, P.I., management.2. Coordinates the maintaining and rotation of suppliesinventory.3. Participates in identified professional organizations as required.4. Promotes good interpersonal relationships.5. Coordinates proper examination scheduling.6. Provides administrative oversight and supervision to departmental operations.7. Drafts correspondence, reports, summaries, schedules, performance evaluations, questionnaires, and other material (to include draft policies) as required in a timely fashion.8. Coordinates training programs for technologists and other radiology personnel.9. Coordinates and monitors OTPS and PS expenditures.10. Presents equipment replacement and acquisition recommendations.11. Enforces that radiation protection is provided to patients, staff and self, according to prescribed safety standards.12. Addresses patient and medical staff complaints.13. Attends meetings and seminars external to the department in order to maintain professional acumen.14. Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of all radiologic equipment within the department.15. Organizes, plans and directs personnel and activities relating to patients and procedures for all radiology areas.16. Coordinates Quality Control programs in all areas.17. Coordinates and supervises vendor-supplied services.18. Presents recommendations on departmental needs to appropriate departments.19. Administers hospital and department policies and procedures.20. Clearly defines authority and responsibility for all personnel to include management subordinates.21. Collects, generates, analyzes, and distributes statistical reports as required in a timely fashion.22. Develops, monitors, and maintains an annual department budget plan.23. Assists in developing and implementing an annual Performance Improvement Plan 24. Develops, monitors, and maintains and annual quality control program.25. Encourages professional growth of subordinates.26. Coordinates, evaluates and counsels (disciplines) employees relative to performance, conduct, attendance standards and adherence to departmenthospital rules and regulations.27. Establishes corrective action and follows-up on error correction to address identified system or person.28. Presents disciplinary action recommendations on behalf of the department.29. Represents the Department of Radiology during extra-departmental meetings.30. Maintains professional acumen in all facets of radiology administration.31. Addresses the needs of the radiology physician component. 32. Participates on hospitaldepartment committees as required.33. Plans and controls staff and equipment to meet current and future demands.34. Plans, organizes, and controls department operations to meet service demands.35. Coordinates, prepares, and presents orientationin-servicecross-training educational programs for equipment, procedures and or policies.36. Prepares and implements a departmental disaster plan.37. Oversees equipment PM and operational staffing schedules (including holiday, weekend technical, and manager back-up schedules).38. Recommends hiring, promotion, discipline and other personnel administrative actions and submits the appropriate documentation in a timely fashion.39. Ensures compliance of equipment to regulatory requirements.40. Recruits, interviews and selects employees.41. Coordinates the distribution, review, approval and proper processing of time sheets in a timely fashion.42. Ensures the compliance of personnel with all requirements from regulatory agencies: federal, state, local, etc.43. Supervises and directs technical aspects in all areas with regard to services, programs and the evaluation of each (to include RIS operations).44. Coordinates the processing of purchase requestsorders and payments according to hospitaldepartment guidelines.45. Adheres to departmental attendance standards.46. Adheres and conforms to hospitaldepartment guidelines, policies, and procedures including Infection control policies.47. Upholds the mission, in demonstrating the commitment to provide safe, high quality healthcare to its patients.48. Respects patient's confidentiality and demonstrates courteous behavior at all times.48. All other duties as required by the hospital.Minimum QualificationsQualification Requirements:1. Holds and maintains a certification from one (1) of the following issuing bodies: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or Radiology Certified Coder (RCC); and,2. Associates degree from an accredited college or university; and,3. Five (5) years of satisfactory radiology experience in a hospital or health care setting, four (4) years of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity; or,4.
