We have raised over $19M through Series A funding from investors including Sequoia, Lux, 7wire Ventures, Chelsea Clinton's Metrodora Capital, Pivotal Ventures, Box Group, and others to achieve this goal.Summer Health is seeking a dynamic and driven Head of Payer Sales to spearhead our business development efforts, particularly within Medicaid and health plan markets. This individual will play a pivotal role as the first sales hire, structuring deals, driving growth, and closing transformative partnerships that expand our reach and impact.Key Responsibilities:Business Development & Sales Execution:Lead sales efforts to secure partnerships with Medicaid programs, health plans, and other key stakeholders.Structure, negotiate, and close complex deals to drive revenue growth.Strategy & Deal Structuring:Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy tailored to health plans and Medicaid.Analyze market opportunities to prioritize high-impact work Utilization:Leverage an existing rolodex of contacts within Medicaid and health plans to open doors and build relationships.Operational Leadership:Operate as a "doer" and execute sales strategies hands-on.Establish sales processes, tools, and frameworks to scale the function as the business grows.Collaboration:Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership to align solutions with market needs.Qualifications:Proven track record of selling into health plans and Medicaid programs, with deep familiarity in the space.Demonstrated ability to structure and close complex deals, achieving measurable revenue growth.Experience as a first sales hire or within a small, high-growth sales team."Roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude, capable of both developing strategy and executing tactically.Established network within Medicaid and health plans, with the ability to leverage relationships effectively.Entrepreneurial mindset with a hustle-driven approach to achieving goals.Ideal CandidatePassionate about improving pediatric healthcare access and outcomes.Thrives in fast-paced, startup environments with minimal direction.Exceptional communicator with the ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions.Self-starter who is ready to "go do it themselves" while building the foundation for a scalable sales organization.We've got you coveredCompetitive base salary.
