Convene, a global industry leader in premium meeting, event, flexible office, and membership spaces is seeking a Service Supervisor who will assist in leading the Hospitality Service Team at one of our New York City properties. As a Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of all programs while maintaining a high-quality products and service levels. The Service Supervisor will report directly to the Service Manager and the General Manager What You'll Do: Supervise and participate in the setup, execution, and breakdown of all programming quickly and efficiently and ensure that it is following the Program Execution OrderSupervise the service team and support staff including setup, utilities, maintenance, and securityCoordinate culinary service between the culinary team and service teamMonitor inventory and keep culinary informed of accurate countsEnforce all rules and regulations and ability to carry out all safety and emergency programsFollow health and safety regulations and ensure sanitation and cleanliness of service areasBe involved in andor conduct ongoing training of service specialists to maintain standards of serviceManage opening andor closing inspection dutiesMaintain service cleanliness in front and back of the sitEnsure positive overall client satisfactionAbility to interact with guests andor associates in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet mannerAdhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standardsLead and perform duties of service technician during shiftWhat We Look For: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or related field preferredMinimum 2 years' of progressive experience in a conference center or a related fieldPrevious supervisory responsibility preferredStrong knowledge of service standards, and different service typesKnowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulationsAbility to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistanceAbility to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stoopingCompensation: The above job definition information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
