Summary of Position: The Senior Medical Director of Primary and Value-Based Care at DocGo is a critical national leadership role, responsible for shaping and executing the strategic vision for primary care and value-driven healthcare services. This position requires an experienced and visionary leader with a deep understanding of value-based care models and their intersection with population health strategies to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and fiscal responsibility. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovation, fostering excellence in primary care, and advancing DocGo's mission to transform healthcare delivery on a national scale. This is not a remote or hybrid position. You will need to work at DocGo HQ and clinically see patients. Experience with Athenahealth is a plus but not a requirement. Travel will be required but periodic throughout the year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement DocGo's comprehensive strategic plan for primary and value-based care services.Align organizational goals with national priorities to improve the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of primary care services.Identify and lead initiatives to integrate population health strategies into value-based care delivery models.Clinical Oversight: Provide expert clinical leadership to the primary care team, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and clinical excellence.Conduct regular assessments of clinical performance metrics across multiple states and implement interventions to achieve and exceed national benchmarks.Oversee and support Advanced Practice Providers with clinical guidance and administrative leadership.Collaborate with care teams to identify and address social determinants of health (SDOH) impacting patient outcomes.Quality and Performance Improvement: Partner with the Medical Quality division to establish and advance national quality standards and improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.Utilize advanced analytics to identify trends, drive performance improvements, and uncover national healthcare innovation opportunities.Foster cross-departmental collaboration to enhance patient-centered care and reduce disparities in access to care.Advancement of Value-Based Care: Lead the growth of value-based care models, emphasizing preventive care, patient engagement, and cost-effective delivery.Collaborate with financial and operational teams to align healthcare delivery with value-based reimbursement strategies nationwide.Establish partnerships with payers and community-based organizations to strengthen value-based care initiatives and expand access.Operational Management and Efficiency: Work closely with Health Plan Partner leadership to ensure optimal resource allocation and seamless service delivery across diverse geographic regions.Implement standardized processes to optimize workflows, enhance patient throughput, and ensure operational efficiency.Leverage digital tools to streamline operational workflows and improve care coordination.Team Development and Leadership: Mentor and develop primary care teams, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing across state lines.Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and excellence in patient care.Develop training programs to improve clinical documentation and understanding of HCC coding for value-based care.Stakeholder Engagement: Drive program growth and initiatives to enhance provider satisfaction and engagement. •Serve as a trusted liaison between physicians and the organization, facilitating mutual understanding and achieving shared goals.Engage with community partners and stakeholders to align care delivery with population health goals.Required Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) with active and continuous board certification in a primary care specialty.Active medical license in NY and ability to obtain additional licenses as required.Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in primary care, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Extensive experience in integrated care models, value-based care, and population health prehensive knowledge of virtual healthcare delivery systems, telehealth regulations, and digital health technologies.Demonstrated success in strategic planning, quality improvement, and managing clinical operations on a national scale.Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse, multi-state workforce.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse stakeholders -depth knowledge of U.S. healthcare regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record of implementing innovative healthcare solutions.Experience in telemedicine and other digital health initiatives.Strong understanding of healthcare analytics and data-driven decision-making.Familiarity with social determinants of health and experience addressing health inequities.EEOAAP Statement: DocGo is an equal opportunity employer.
