Job Type Part-timeDescriptionJob Title: Group Leader - Administrative AssistantProgram Attendance Coordinator Location: CFL "Life Lines" After School & Summer Day Camp Program Job Type: Part-Time Exemption: Non-Exempt PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To support middle school participants, their families, and staff in a community-based after-school setting and summer day program. Assist in enrollment, data entry, attendance tracking, and other administrative tasks related to the school-based program. I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to Administrative Tasks: Enroll participants for the site in funder databases Maintain daily and monthly attendance records Establish, maintain, and revise record keeping and filing system Make absenteelate follow-up calls Collection of outcome data Help team with parent engagement events Coordinate requisitions and supplies Receptionist tasks: filing, copying, answering the phone Maintain confidentiality Group Work-Related Tasks: Collaborate with a team of program coordinators, professional artists, social workers, and youth workers Contribute to the planning and execution of special events and other community-building activities Guide children's development and help them relate to each other and adults Attend weekly professional development meetings II. QUALIFICATIONS EducationDegree minimum requirement: High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma Minimum one year of experience working in a fast-paced environment (i.e. afterschool program, food services, etc.) or experience in an office setting Age: 19 years old or older Must be comfortable working with children, working in groups, and being part of a community Flexibility and the ability to work well as a member of a team Interested in managing and creating positive experiences for groups of youth, including participants with special needs and challenging behaviors Desire to share and build personal and interpersonal skills with participants Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately Highly organized and able to manage time efficiently Candidates must demonstrate Good verbal and writing skills Computer literacy Proficiency with word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.) Bilingual: EnglishSpanish or EnglishMandarin, preferred III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS Build and maintain close, daily interactions with participants, co-workers, and supervisors Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization. Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change Forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families. IV. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work weekdays from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with occasional evening meetings Actively engage and interact with children each day May be required to be active by walking, bending, standing May be exposed to all weather conditions and might be required to work in various temperatures in order to facilitate activities in various locations inside and outside of the school building V. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY To support and coordinate data entry, accurate enrollment, and daily attendance recording in a complex attendance system of about 700 participants for a community-based after-school setting and summer day program (as needed). This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with students, parents, and staff. This is a regular part-time position. The hourly rate is $18-20 per hour. Benefits include up to four weeks of paid vacation.
