OVERVIEW:The Lead Relocation Coordinator is a key member of the Relocation team that is responsible for overseeing the daily relocation tasks required at housing sites while working closely with residents to prepare and assist them with all required relocation activities. The position involves regular communication with clients and managing third-party vendors. A positive attitude and a solutions-based approach are expected when providing relocation services to clients and residents. The Lead Relocation Coordinator will represent HOU at internal and external events and is expected to lead with integrity while advancing HOU's mission and reputation. RESPONSIBILITIESConduct site setup activities, including the arrangement of office, relocation files organization, initial staff training, identification of vendors, and off-site relocation unitsPerform regular audits of relocation filesAttend virtual weekly meetings with the clientParticipate in and facilitate resident and community meetings and drop-in sessions to discuss the relocation process and resident relocation rights and benefits.Assist Relocation Coordinator in Right Size Coordination and Site Support Assess and analyze complex and challenging issues with residents and communicate information and actions needed in a timely and responsive mannerProvides ongoing support and guidance to site staffProvide relocation counseling and assistance in compliance with applicable Federal, State, or local regulationsProvide support to Project Manager on the development of the funder and regulatory-required relocation plan and implement relocation policies as outlined in the approved relocation planServe as a liaison between HOU, property management, clients, and each residentProvide weekly and monthly reports to clients, the project director, and the development team.Regularly update and maintain relocation files, database, lottery list, and relocation tracking reportsCreate an agenda for weekly relocation meetings, take minutes of each meeting, and distribute them to the team within 48 hours of the meetingParticipate in weekly supervision and scheduled site meetings with the Project ManagerEnsure relocation files contain required documentation and the data-tracking system is updated regularlyComplete all tasks identified in the site work plan and perform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma (Bachelor's Degree preferred)Experience in relocation services, social services, customer service, or other similar fields preferredMust receive HQS inspection certification with 6-months of employmentKnowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite as well as database applicationsMust have excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAble to work with diverse populations and communicate effectively with numerous stakeholder groups, including staff, clients, and residentsMust be able to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work under strict time constraints on various projectsAbility to lift up to 20 lbs, work in adverse weather conditions and stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to walk up to 4 miles per day and ascend up to four flights of stairs at a timeSelf-directed and able to work independentlyAble to work weekends occasionally Excellent organizational skillsMust be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background screenThe ideal Lead Relocation Coordinator will possess the following additional skills:Compassion and empathyFlexibility and adaptability as challenging situations ariseAbility to maintain a calm atmosphere under pressure and stressful situationsAbility to effectively and appropriately diffuse or de-escalate difficult situations and peopleDiversity and cultural competency are highly valuedHOU offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, health reimbursement account (HRA), FSA, life, vision, dental, disability insurance, professional development support, paid time off and sick leave, and a 401K retirement plan.
