Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Work Shifts8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.MJob DescriptionUnder the direction of the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Care with latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, coordinates, controls and organizes the administrative office and support function of the divisions of Cardiology, Pulmonary and Neurology.Areas of ResponsibilitiesDiagnostics Suite - Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pulmonary, and Neurology.Duties & Responsibilities1. Oversees daily administrative operations of the areas indicated above;2. Order supplies for the Cardiology department through the PeopleSoft FinanceSupply Chain, including one-time and Auxiliary purchases.3. Administratively supervises the technical and clerical staff in these areas:a. Monitors time and attendance.b. Prepare monthly work schedule.c. Completes annual evaluation in conjunction with the Assistant Director of the department and the Chief of Cardiology.d. Takes progressive disciplinary action when needed.e. Ensure staff maintains compliance with required annual in-service, OHS and licensescertifications are maintained in current status.f. Ensure staff is educated regarding changes on new policy and procedures.4. Conduct huddles and staff meetings for the divisions mentioned above and minutes are prepared.5. Maintain a safe environment for patients by ensuring the enforcement of safety policies6. Assist in the development, implementation and adherence of policies and procedures, as well as, quality assurance documentation.7. Ensure daily EKG studies are assigned to the reading physician and are finalized in MUSE.8. Reconcile EKGs in MUSE with no orders.9. Prepare emails to physicians requesting EKG orders for EKGs performed with no orders.10. Adjust scheduling templates in EPIC for Cardiology, Pulmonary and Neurology.11. Maintain work queues for Cardiology, Pulmonary and Neurology as directed by the chief of service by removing duplicate andor incorrect orders and canceling orders as per departmental policy12. Conduct monthly rounds throughout the hospital and off-site locations of EKG carts.13. Maintain compliance of stress lab medication by ensuring nursing conducts bi-weekly checks and pharmacy conducts monthly check of medications.14. Prepare monthly Cardiology statistics, Critical testsresults and TEE reports. .15. Ensure patients are seen within a reasonable time.16. Work in collaboration with Central office Cardiology support in implementing new cardiologyinitiatives.17. Gather data throughout the calendar year to prepare the Department of Health HERDS survey to maintain the facility stroke designation.18. Attend meetings representing the Ambulatory Care department as requested.19. Perform additional duties as assigned by Assistant Director or designee.Minimum Qualifications1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and2. Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as MedicalLaboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or3. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in "1" above; and4. Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in "2" above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in "2" above; or5.
