Tomorrow, we will power checkout-free experiences anywhere you go to make the everyday experiences of living, working and playing remarkable - giving us back our most valuable asset, time.The Role Metropolis is looking for a Senior Accountant to work under the direction of a Technical Accounting Manager to produce financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The position will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting Accounting guidance and contracts, and translating findings to the General Ledger. This team member will also assist in the year-end close process, preparation and variance analysis of assigned areas, and the annual audit. This will be a hybrid role working from the Nashville or New York office. ResponsibilitiesComplete month-end close activities accurately and according to department deadlinesPrepare and post journal entriesPropose accruals, expense allocations, and true-ups based on Accounting guidanceMaintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents and related supportWork closely with internal and external departments to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and completeResearching and documenting conclusions based on regulatory guidance for technical accounting mattersAnswer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting dataParticipate in year-end audit to compile and prepare supporting schedules, work papers, and financial reportsWork cross-functionally with other departments and key stakeholdersReview contracts and prepare memorandums based on Accounting guidancePrepare financial footnotes and disclosuresSupport M&A from a technical accounting perspectivePerform other duties as assigned or requiredQualifications 3+ years of accounting experienceBachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited universityCPA certification is preferredAbility to manage time for multiple tasks to meet established deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional teamExperience in real estate strongly preferredWhen you join Metropolis, you'll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. The anticipated base salary for this position is $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence andor place of employment.
