Title: Accounting AssociateDepartment: Finance & AccountingReports To: ControllerLocation: NYC Office (Hybrid)Salary: $53,800 - $64,500 (Placement within this range is dependent upon experience and location) SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Accounting Associate will support the finance and accounting team in daily and ad-hoc tasks and projects. This is a role for an early-career professional to gain experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAccounts Receivable:Assist with billings and collections, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.Update and distribute collections reports on a weekly basis; discuss issuesquestions with Team Leads.Monitor and manage cash receipts, including posting payments and resolving discrepanciesAccounts Payable:Assist with vendor onboarding and billings, expense reports verification.Ensure proper coding of expenses and adherence to budgets.General:Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliationsSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesRespond to inquiries in the Accounting general mailbox Perform other general tasks as necessaryKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSBachelor's degree in accounting is required1-3 years of experience in AccountingSalesforce and Intacct experience is preferredPossess a strong attention to detailStrong proficiency in MS Office, especially ExcelExcellent organizational & interpersonal skillsSolid communication skills, both verbal and writtenPositive attitude and a strong desire to be a part of a diverse teamAbility to maintain confidential informationAbility to work both collaboratively and independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.Nonprofit experience is a plusEqual Employment OpportunityCatalyst expressly prohibits any form of workplace harassment based on race and ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, nationality, culture, religion, marital and family status, current unemployment status, physical and mental abilities, age, veteran status, genetics, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local laws.
