Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Work Shifts6:00 A.M - 2:00 P.MJob DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION: Under supervision, with latitude for independent judgment, performs supervisory andor moderately difficult clerical duties, billing, and collection functions, in addition to patient accounting systems under minimal supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES:- Front Desk registration functions including check in and check out for in person visits and televisits; reminder calls; pre-registration; processing appointment and referral work queues.-Conduct patient interviews to obtain identifying information, such as demographic, biographic and insurance status. Information is entered accurately, into EPIC (Pre-registration of patients).-Scan patient ID, insurance card(s), referral forms (if applicable) and consent forms obtained from the patient into document imaging system.-Assist in the proper handling of patients' protected health information to ensure HIPAA compliance.-Responsible to ensure timely billing process, verify insurance eligibility process for correct demographics and insurance (commercial, managed care etc.)-Provide professional and quality customer service to patients by following department policy and procedures utilizing the EPIC systemlCARE values.-Support the patient care team in providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.-Accept patient payments of cash, money orders, debit and credit cards and follow cash reconciliation policy and all other cashier procedures and functions.-Issue payment receipts via EPIC Cash Management function.-Reconcile all payments received against receipts issued and prepare daily proof of cash reconciliation report with daily submission of reconciled cash payments, receipts and reports to department designee andor Finance for review.-Update patient installment agreements and ensure payment amounts are correct.-Supervise the activities of Clericals Ills in their work assignments.-Conduct training of registration and customer service competencies as needed.-MetroCard distribution to patients.-Assist the patients with bi-lingual services by using the Interpreter Service when needed.-Contribute to an environment that supports patient satisfaction and staff engagement.-Document and follow-up with reminder calls.-Use EPIC to monitor no-show, cycle time, and TNAA for daily flow management.-Maintain a safe environment for patients by ensuring the enforcement of safety policies, attend continuing education programstraining as scheduled-Ensure medical form (MSQ11) is placed in the appropriate providers mailbox for completion.-Responsible for maintaining standards of Cultural Competency and Network Customer Service-Reviews and verifies accuracy of recorded data within billing systems as needed-Maintain tidy work area.-Provide clerical coverage as needMinimum Qualifications1. A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and2.
